Snapshot

While at the hairdressers this week I was flicking through a magazine and stumbled across an article talking about finding one photo that summarises yourself. I can't quite recall why the author was talking about this 'challenge' but it got me thinking.

Immediately I began to think of my favourite photo from my wedding, then my mind turned to that funny childhood photo that always makes me smile... but putting my hands on just one photo to sum me up proved pretty tricky. Instead, as you'll see, I've cheated and taken one photo of several objects that I think represent me.

• Goldfish - Meet Doris, my 13 year old Goldfish. She was given to me as a joke by a friend. Doris is a little fighter and lives to tell many a tale.

• Statement necklace - I'm never without a necklace. Ideally upcycled and the bolder the better.

• Oyster card - London born and I wouldn't call anywhere else my home.

• Pear and Freesia - My favourite scent and the smell of my home.

• Hendricks Gin - My favourite tipple. Especially with an elderflower tonic and a heap of ice.

• Cadburys chocolate - My Grandad told me this was medicine so I daren't go a day without it. I also love a Jaffa Cake.

• Ketchup - I put ketchup on ketchup.

• OPI Lincoln Park After Dark - My hand uniform along with my chunky silver ring.

• Cards - I love posting a little hello to my favourite people.

• Wedding photo - My Hubby, my world.

• Me and my girls - Photo of me and my bridesmaids on our special day. They were my heroes on that day and I'd be lost without them by my side.

• Pins - I have a framed map of the world with pins to show everywhere I have been.

• Shoes - I'm often found wearing bright shoes. I love a pop of colour to brighten my outfit. I have a turquoise pair that are my current faves.

• Camera - I'm happiest when travelling and snapping away.

• Notebook - This is where I keep my thoughts and ideas. It’s grey of course, my favourite colour.

• Garden gnome - I would happily spend a whole afternoon in the garden if I could. I love pottering and being out in the fresh air - especially after a stressful week at work.

• MacBook Pro - The machine that turns my daydreaming into reality.

• Candle - Barely an evening goes by without a candle lit.

• Mags - I'm obsessed with food and soft furnishings. If I have a spare moment I love to bake and find my next piece of furniture.

• Scarf - I'm known for my chunky knits. It's like a duvet around your neck - what’s not to love!

• Hats - I walk in my front door to a hat wall. My collection started with my Grandpa's hat and grew from there.

• Frank Sinatra signed photo - One of my most treasured items. My late Grandpa wrote to Frank after I could only fall asleep to his music as a baby.
